The march of AI

UK Consumers are turning to AI-enabled home assistants for Christmas shopping, with nearly a third planning to use such devices.

A SAP commissioned survey reveals use in-home assistant has doubled in a year, to the extent that mainstream retailers need to consider impact of such devices, and there has been a significant shift in public attitudes to AI.

Devices like Amazon Echo, Google Home and Apple Home Pod are now becoming trusted, with the survey finding that 31 per cent of consumers now trust AI-enabled technology to help make important decisions - compared to- 15 per cent a year ago.

With recent enterprise initiatives by Google and Amazon, and public trust growing, the increased use of AI in normal business situations is likely to follow the trend.
